Monthly Minutes of the Circus City Cyclists

 

Place:  First Christian Church   Peru, Indiana

 

Time:  7:30 p.m.

 

Leader:  Bill Click, President

 

Present:  6 members, 4 officers

 

Absent:  Not addressed

 

Meeting minutes:  June minutes were submitted by Jane Mannies and approved.

 

Treasury Report:  June and July reports were submitted by Chris Betzner and approved

 

Communications:  No new communications.

 

Discussion:

Metric Century: Report was given by Bob Blong.  Bob submitted a final report and this copy is in the secretary’s folder.  The leftovers (pop, granola bars, etc.)  will be sold to the family reserve fund for $20.00.  Bill motion Rich followed, approved.  Bob stated that the sags all went well.  Bill stated that he thinks we need more sponsors.  Bob stated that he thinks that we should not give Harvey Hinklemeyer the exclusive on the food sponsor.  Bob also stated that the planning for the ride should start much earlier than in the past.  He suggested September. 

 

Rail Trail Report: Three sections of the trail are open for hiking.  Denver needs $1600.00 to clean up the trail area with a bulldozer so it can be mowed.  Mike stated that the profit from this year’s  Cole Porter run will be donated to the Friends of the Nickel Plate.  Mike will have more info next month.  Bill needs 1 more workday in Denver but he wants to wait until cooler weather.  Bill has new petitions, and he can e-mail this to anyone who is interested. 

 

Membership Renewal and New Members: Mike Donaldson

 

Web Site Report:  Mike still working with Dave Sutton on this.  Jane suggested that we have a deadline on this because of getting started early on the metric century ride for next year.  If we have the website up and going it may generate more participants. 

 

Club Picnic: Jane and Linda will work on this.  More next month.

 

Xenia Ride: Bill, Cathy, Miles and Rich so far are going.

 

Hilly Hundred: Miles has camping info

 

Heritage Days Ride: We will have both our Saturday and Sunday ride from the 4H fairground the weekend that Heritage days  is being held.  Heritage Days will be held August 24th and 25th this year.
