Business: Metric Century: Bob Blong reported that plans are going well, with a few changes. The bridge over Mississinewa Dam is closed for repair and there is a temporary bridge in place. The surface of the temporary bridge is rough for bicycles, and Mike Kuepper reported that Lynn Moser of Moser Floor Covering would be covering the rough part of the bridge with carpet pieces. Bob and Mike also reported that they are planning a 4th sag stop (in Bunker Hill). We are still waiting on a quote for the printing of the brochures (Linda McCoy was not present at this meeting) Chris Betzner will check with Dwight Dillman about the entertainment at the sag(s) and sponsorship, and Jane Mannies will talk with Jeff Butts (of Harvey Hinklemyers) about sponsorship and donations that he made last year. Both Chris and Jane will call Bob when they speak with these individuals. Bob wants to have the mailings out for the ride by April 15. Next months meeting all attending will be asked to stay after to prepare mailings.
Rail Trail: Mike Kuepper told us to keep a lookout in the Peru Tribune for an article about the Birmingham grant. Doc Musselman was interviewed about the prairie area that is to be preserved through the grant. Details are still in the planning stages. He reported that there are stop signs on the trail through Bunker Hill now. There are posts set in Denver on the trail for the signs, and the signs will be in place shortly. Richard Vonegut is working on several grants for the trail, and Mike also suggested talking to the County Counsel about taking them to the Xenia trail to see the trail and talk to their commissioners. Mike reminded us that trail meetings are the last Wednesday of the month in Bunker Hill, and workdays are the 4th Saturday of the month (with site location to be announced).
