Monthly Minutes of the Circus City CyclistsPlace: First Christian Church, Peru, Indiana Time: 7:30 p.m. Leader: Bill Click, President Present: 11 members, 3 officers Absent: Not addressed Meeting Minutes: Minutes from April meeting were submitted by Jane Mannies and approved. Treasury Report: Chris Betzner read Report, submitted and approved. Communications: no new communications Discussion:
Old
Business: Metric Century: Pipe Creek is ok for SAG, but please no markings on road. Jane will call Ron Hileman to ask him to play music at Pipe Creek at 8:30. Chris will confirm Bunker Hill entertainment with Dwight Dillman. Harvey’s will be contributing the same as they did last year. We do not have a firm commitment from Cole Brothers for water. On
ride day we would like for the riders to check back in after the ride, and it
was suggested that we ask the riders at check in before the ride to turn in
their numbers after the ride is over. We
will then put all the numbers that were turned in into a drawing for a prize.
We discussed several different prizes, but did not decide on one.
We will probably give a gift certificate for Breakaway. Bob
said there are still a few small details to be worked out on the course.
Bob
would like volunteer commitments from members for help with the ride. Bike
Rodeo: Chris reported that all is going well with the bike rodeo.
He asked for firm commitments for volunteers.
Jane Mannies Alex Blong, Linda McCoy, Diane and Ashley Lehman will be
fitting helmets, and Bill Click and Bob Blong will be helping Chris do safety
checks on the bikes. Bike
Week: Miles took a copy
for the Peru Tribune to run an article in the paper, but he did not get any
cooperation from Brian Boyce. As of
this meeting there has not been anything in the paper.
Linda McCoy will call the tribune as out PR representative and talk to
Kelly Voss. Chris Betzner talked to
Randy Latta at WARU radio and they are going to run this all week on the radio.
There will be 3 prizes given: most
miles, most days’ rode, and a random drawing of all who called in that rode
their bikes to work. Rail
Trail: The goal is to
open the trail for hiking and mountain bike riding from Lover’s Lane to 800
North. Jane Mannies brought
posters of the trail presentation and map that the Purdue students made of the
north section. The students gave
her the posters for the bike club to use. She
sent an email thanking the girls for their hard work.
Miles Straly took the posters to have them mounted on a stiff board so
they will be easier to handle.
