Monthly Minutes of the Circus City Cyclists

Place:  First Christian Church, Peru, Indiana

Time:  7:30 p.m.

Leader:  Bill Click, President

Present:  7 members total, 3 officers

Absent:  Treasurer Chris Betzner is on duty at station 2

Meeting Minutes:  October minutes of meeting were approved as submitted by Cathy Click.

Communications: Polar Bear Ride on New Years Day (flyers can be picked up at Breakaway Bike Shop)

Treasurer’s Report: Accepted as submitted by Chris Betzner.

Discussion:

Metric Century: Ride will take place June 28, 2003; no further update.

Website Report: Mike Donaldson can call office and ask for help.  Need to have up and running on Jan. 1, 2003.

Nickel Plate Trail: Mike Kuepper reported that Kevin Comerford could work with Mike on the 5013C.  Community Foundation money in Miami and Fulton Counties.  Fulton Co. was asked to give demonstration; $35,000.00 was asked for, money for brochures, etc.  Will know about money at the end of this month.  Work was done at Rochester.  There are temporary gates at the crossings.

Bill Click reported that he would be working in Denver on Nov. 13 and 16, if anyone wants to help.

There are 10 trees to cut and brush to burn, then it will be ready to bulldoze (which will be done at no cost by Kendall Hattery).  Near Rochester a farmer has bulldozed along the side of where the tracks were, but it actually did not hurt the trail and it cleared some brush out.  At Deedsville, a local farmer had ballast hauled off.  Vonnegut will talk to a lawyer about this situation.

The next Trail Meeting will be at the Bunker Hill Community building on Nov. 27 at 7 PM.

Mike and Bill will take the petition and the article from the Indianapolis Star to the Commissioners meeting on the 18th or 25th of November.

Membership Renewals and New: None.  Bill C will send out applications before the end of 2002.

Nominating Committee: Rich Holler (Vice President) and Chris Betzner (Treasurer) have agreed to resume their positions for the following year.  Chris and Miles contacted several members about holding officer positions, but did not get anyone to commit; they will try again for the December meeting.  Bill said he would try to get something out to members by E-mail.

Other Business: Mike Kuepper will work on a ski trip 1-2 day package to Kalamazoo.

Meeting was adjourned.
