Minutes of the Circus City Cyclists

Meeting Minutes: Minutes from June meeting were submitted and approved.
Treasury Report: Treasurers report submitted by Chris Betzner and approved
Communications: (1) Letter from Dick Fullmer, Miami Co. YMCA Director, thanking CCC for the $300 contributed to the Bike Rodeo.
Discussion: Metric
Century Report: (Chris Betzner) Gross income from
the Metric Century was $4431.75 and expenses were $2163.76 leaving a net profit
of $2267.99. Sponsorships totaled $1900 in money and goods. New sponsors added in the past month included Peru Automotive ($50) and Rain Creek Loft/Bill Wilson ($50). The club voted to present Dave Sullivan with a check for $25 and a ride shirt. The club agreed to present free
ride shirts to the ten pre-registered riders who did not receive shirts the day
of the ride. It was agreed that all sponsors
should receive a free ride shirt and a thank you card.
Ideas for next years ride were discussed. These will be firmed up at a later date but include: a ride committee vs. a one-person ride director (Each would have specific duties. The committee would meet as needed.), riders under age five should be free, a family price should be offered, a list of convenience stores (Grissom ARB, Bunker Hill, Somerset, Peoria, etc.) should be included in the rider packages to give riders additional SAG options. Nickel Plate Trail, Inc. Report: (Bill Click) The executive committee met last week and updated the bylaws. Mike Kuepper is working with Dick Hammond to attain 501C3 status for the Friends Group. The next meeting will be July 30, 7:00 p.m., Bunker Hill Community Building. Membership Renewals & New Member Report: (3) - NEW MEMBERS: Rocky Ash, Robin Armstrong, Koffman; (0) – RENEWALS. Currently the club is about 72% renewed based on last year’s membership numbers. There are (8) memberships from last year yet to renew this year. Special Rides: (Miles Straly) Our club’s Ride Across Indiana (RAIN) will take place on Sunday, July 20th. All interested members should contact Miles ASAP. Riders should meet at the Breakaway Bike Shop at 3:45 a.m. and be prepared to depart at 4:00 a.m. It is anticipated that the ride will follow SR 16 from the Illinois state line to Huntington and various county roads from there to the Ohio state line. Total distance will be about 160 miles. Rich Holler, Jeff Laycock, Matt, Miles, and Hayden are confirmed riders. Others are invited. Peggy Straly and Dick Holler will provide SAG support. Dog Problems: (Bill Click) Bill met with Sheriff Ken Roland and looked at both the county and city dog ordinances. He placed an article in the Peru Tribune highlighting the personal responsibilities of dog owners. If any rider has trouble with a dog he/she should call the Sheriff’s Department or 911. The county animal control officer is Mr. Dausch.
