Monthly Minutes of the Circus City Cyclists

Date: Tuesday, February 6, 2007

President Miles Straly called the meeting to order at 7:43 p.m.

Attendance: Miles Straly, Wally Woodhams, Rich Holler, and John Miller.

Secretary’s Report (John): Minutes were read from November, 2006 meeting.

Treasurer’s Report: Receipts have been taken in from membership renewals.

Miami County Trail: Miles, John and Wally are to meet with the new Chamber of Commerce director Sandy Chittum and Mildred Coppes from the museum to produce a flyer for the Miami County Trail.

Nickel Plate Trail: Update from Miles that Dr. Tom Lesher from Logansport donated $50,000 to assist the tail in crossing the Wabash River. This will be used as a local match to go with the big TEA grant in 2008. The plan is to extend the existing trail north from Wallick Road across the river. There it will “Y” to connect to the River Walk and cross Main Street at the Arbys restaurant and extend to 7th St.

Later yet this spring in 2007, paving will commence from Bunker Hill south to Miami and if funds allow, on to Bennetts Switch.

Polar Bear Ride: Rich reported that it was a good ride with about 100 people. The temperature was good but they did get a little wet.

Club rides: The date the ride schedule will commence will be determined at our March 8th club meeting.

Fat Tire Ride: The next Fat Tire Ride will be this spring at Huntington.

Upcoming Events: BIKE RODEO, May is bike and fitness month, Poker Run in June, Hilly Hundred 40th will be October 12-14, 2007.

Dues Renewal: Please renew your membership within the next month.

Next meeting: March 8, 2007
