Monthly Minutes of the Circus City Cyclists

President Miles Straly called the meeting to order at 7:36 p.m.

Attendance: Miles Straly, Secy. John Miller, Rich Holler and Wally Woodhams.

Secretary’s Report: John read minutes from last month’s meeting.

Treasurer’s Report: No report.

MiCounty Trail: The ladies at museum will contact Miles about next meeting.

Crane Cruise: Oct 27, at Medaryville, IN, None attended though cranes are worth a trip.

NITE Ride: Was held on Saturday,Nov 3 at 7:00 PM. Fifteen riders attended and Barb and Denny See provided a chili dinner.

Fat Tire ride: Sunday, November 11. Attention mountain bikers, plan to meet at Miami’s Fort at 1:00 PM. We will drive to Salamonie Lake in Andrews for some easy to moderate dirt trail riding. It looks like we will have a decent number going. If interested, please contact John. Bring helmets and other equipment such as body armor in case you fall often.

FatSat ride: Sat After Thanksgiving ride, Nov 24: Like last year, we are planning another fun ride on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Meet at Trailhead at 6:00 PM for the NITE ride. Hot cider will be provided. Those interested from the bike club can ride on county roads down to Bunker Hill to ride the newly completed 3.5-mile stretch of Nickel Plate on to Miami. With the optional new section distance will be approximately 19 miles round trip. Helmets are required on all club rides.

Nickel Plate Trail: Miles shared that the Indiana Trails Conference met today in Peru with 100 people attending from around the state. Mike Kuepper spoke. Bill Friend spoke of the importance of cooperation by our elected officials.

The section of the trail from Bunker Hill south 3.5 miles should have the final top layer of asphalt applied by next week. The TEA grant will help with the crossing of the Wabash River next summer. The trail will extend to the back of the old Kroger parking lot and cross Main Street and stop for now at 7^th Street. We did not discuss when work on the Bunker Hill bridge would commence.

Regular club rides: Regular club ride times are in effect. The Thursday ride starts at 5:00 PM from Miami’s Fort.

Elections: Elections will be held for next year during our regular club meeting in December. If you are interested in running for one of the offices, please contact John Miller.

Next meeting: Second Thursday at 7:30 PM (December 13) at First Christian Church.
