The Circus City Metric Century has become one of the most popular bicycle tours in the Midwest. Several new improvements make this year's ride the best ever. A new addition to our tour will include riding on a section of the famous Nickel Plate Trail. This magnificent rail-trail will eventually run forty miles from Kokomo to Rochester. The trail crosses several streams and goes through beautiful secluded woods. Other sights along the route include the Wabash and Mississinewa Rivers, breathtaking Pipe Creek Falls, Mississinewa Lake, the International Circus Hall of Fame, Grissom Air Museum, and historic Seven Pillars. SAG stops at four separate locations are well stocked with nutritious snacks. Enjoy some of the best live entertainment you will ever find on a bicycle tour. Prompt emergency service is available over the entire route. The terrain on each of the three routes ranges from flat to moderately rolling hills. The staging area for the ride is Peru High School, located at 401 N. Broadway Street. Warm showers are available after the ride so you will be ready to take part in the many other activities available in Peru. Peru, Indiana is the home of two world renowned circuses and the famous composer, Cole Porter. The CC Metric Century is just one part of the festivities of the combined 2006 Miami County Summerfest and Cole Porter Festival. This will be a great time for you to bring the whole family to Peru for a weekend of fun and recreation. From Thursday night June 8, to Sunday afternoon June 11, fun-filled activities abound. These include bands, plays, tours, a car show, circus performances, Taste of Miami County, and much more. Bring the whole family and spend the entire weekend!
